We spend most of our Spring weekends on the Columbia River fishing for Spring Chinook Salmon (Springers). Springer fishing days can be some of the longest and wettest fishing d
ays of the year. On occasion we will get one or two spring days when a light breeze pushes high clouds through the sky and the bright sun beats down on the water and forget the long rainy days.

The picture above is on the Columbia River at Bonneville Dam. This Springer fishing day we had sun and tempatures in the high 70's.

Springer fishing on the Columbia River at Cathlamet. This had to be the worst weather we have fished in, just weekends apart we went from sun to snow in the boat! It was so cold and snowed all day. The picture below shows how quickly the weather changed on the river that day.

Even with the these weather conditions, we took home a few chunky Springers.
